The lead sponsors of the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (Seniors’ Act) (H.R. 3173/S. 3018 in the 117th Congress) sent identical House and Senate sign-on letters to to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) urging the agency to finalize a proposed prior authorization reform rule (CMS-0057-P, Advancing Interoperability and Improving Prior Authorization Processes) that closely aligns with this legislation.
